VADS sees significant data centre contribution
VADS, a unit of Telekom Malaysia, expects data centre business to emerge as the biggest contributor to the company’s ICT operations moving forward, CEO Ahmad Azhar Yahya said that this was due to continuous growth in demand for data centres in Malaysia. The rising number of companies adopting cloud computing was given a s reason for this rise in demand for data
centres.
VADS currently has 14 data centres nationwide with total space of 150,000 sq ft. Ahmad Azhar said the company was looking at the possibility of building up to 5 large data centres over the next three years, albeit these plans are at an early stage.
