The project is a Build-to-Suit datacenter for a Fortune Global 500 company located in Digital Realty Trust's 350 East Cermak Road facility in Chicago. The recently LEED Gold certified datacenter features 20,000 square feet of raised-floor space with 4,000 kW of available IT load.

Incumbent operator Telekom Malaysia (TM) Bhd has announced it is consolidating its data centre infrastructure with Symantec's Data Centre Foundation solution. The solution integrates data protection, storage management, server management and application performance management tasks onto a single platform.Prior to this, TM was operating on multiple server platforms, databases, applications and disparate storage devices.
Svenska Handelsbanken's with branches in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Great Britain has selected VPD Market Data Centre, part of VPD Risk & Performance, to improve flexibility and reliability in the data management and data flow of index constituent data throughout the organisation. As a hub and data warehouse based on the MS SQL 2000/2005 data management system, VPD brings together data from external price and index vendors with client portfolio and other internal systems. In this case the system will interface with Thomson Portia and StatPro SPA among other systems.
HP has announced two Unified Communications (UC) solutions which are hosted on the HP BladeSystem to enable businesses to manage multiple communication tools on a single platform. Customers can host e-mail, messaging, presence, conferencing and telephony on one platform using HP's Solution Blocks for Unified Communications. HP Solution Blocks combine HP server blades, HP storage hardware and interconnect technology. Other HP Solution Blocks are also available for CRM, ERP or business continuity.
IBM has announced the signing of a 10-year contract with Somerset County Council and Taunton Deane Borough Council to create a shared services joint venture company called Southwest One. Southwest One will be run by staff seconded from both councils and from IBM. It will supply shared IT, finance, HR, customer services, facilities management, property services and procurement services. It will also supply revenue and benefit services to Taunton Deane Borough Council.
Pan-European telecoms provider COLT Telecom has signed a six year contract with the National Bank of Belgium to provide a disaster recovery solution. This includes the provision of a secure Data Centre and network connectivity with the Bank's own Data Centre. The value of the contract over the 6-year period is 8.5 million.

EvoSwitch, the Dutch carrier-neutral data center that operates climate-neutrally, has been certified by Prof. Dr. Ronald Paans from Noordbeek IT Audit in accordance with the ISO 27001 standard. The certification process took two months to complete. For customers, this means that their information is secured within EvoSwitch in accordance with the most stringent standards, and that the company complies with relevant legislation and regulations, such as the Personal Data Protection Act of the Netherlands.
