Activities vary from basic design , project management during built, audits in existing DC and incident mapping and problem solving unexpected incidents.

Since the start of UpTime, KyotoCooling® was step by step discovered and developed. During this process KPN, the major Dutch Telco, became interested and involved. This resulted in the built of a full size KyotoCooling® test facility in Amersfoort. Here is demonstrated at 6000 Watt/m2 and 100 kWatt in one cabinet how efficient KyotoCooling ® can cool IT hardware. Occurring PUE are in the range of 1,02 – 1,06. In the Dutch climate a year over PUE of < 1,10 was derived and reported.

In 2008 KyotoCooling International was formed to market KyotoCooling to the world. KyotoCooling is presented to the market as a total solution. KyotoCooling International will supply all necessary mechanical and electrical hardware with the full cooling process controller as well. All parts are fully tested at the test site. The KyotoCooling process is designed and tested to meet the highest standards in continuity.

KyotoCooling International BV owns all IP, patents and Know-How, regarding KyotoCooling®.

Mees(48) has had, after his Mechanical Engineering Degree(MSc) at Delft University, a colorful career, before “settling” in the DC infra structure world. Greg is developing the Data Centre proposition for Atlantis Resources Corporation, a tidal energy technology and project company. Atlantis has been in business for over 10 years and over that time has developed and tested at commercial scale the world’s most efficient tidal turbines. The current focus is the development of a large scale tidal array to be deployed off of the North Coast of Scotland in an area of seabed known as the Pentland Firth. This area contains one of the best tidal resources in the world.

Atlantis’ Data Centre Project (Project Blue) is designed to create a large electrical load for the tidal turbines. The power transmission grid is very constrained in that part of Scotland and it will be many years before it can be fully upgraded. Project Blue allows the tidal power to be exploited much earlier than would have otherwise been possible. The data centre has the benefits of both a unique source of energy and a cool climate which will reduce energy usage.

Before joining Atlantis, Greg spent 17 years at the investment bank Morgan Stanley in a variety of technology related roles. Most recently as the Executive Director responsible for their Data Centre strategy and the development of an award winning Tier 4 facility.
