Data Centres Europe Addresses Challenges And Opportunities Of Sustained Boom; More Than Ever A Critical Strategic Resource For Enterprises

London, 6th February 2007 The third Data Centres Europe taking place in London 22-23 March 2007, will address the many challenges and opportunities in the face of a sustained boom in demand and record growth levels. The event, which this year significantly themes the enterprise user, will also seek to articulate the evidence for continued growth, but also assess the consequences in terms of technology and investment and as regulation increasingly encroaches on data centre activity. DCE has uniquely defined the critical strategic resource that Data Centres represent over the past three years, commented Nicola Hayes, vice president at BroadGroup, the event researchers and producers. This is a critical time in growth, with many expansion plans in place, and this event offers a valuable corroboration of user service demands, as well as a holistic view of European markets and development. Delegates also gain from the enormous networking opportunity in joining the flagship European event. Themes to be discussed at the event cover a range of critical topics including the evolution of Data Centres in Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and other European centres, future funding and investment in Data Centres, the migration of IT in Financial Services companies to third party outsourcing, Managed Services and the rising importance of VoIP to the portfolio, a Peering Panel, an update on the carrier hotels market, the rise of connectivity, and a special focus session, Content Delivery in the Data Centre environment. Following keynote presentations by guest speakers, the second day of the event poses the question, how urgent is virtualisation and an expert panel will assess best practice in Data Centres. A highlight of the event will be The Green Seminar How Green and Sustainable Should Data Centres become? Provided by global consultancy ARUP, the seminar aims to address key questions confronting Data Centres for the short, medium and long term. DCE is sponsored by Rittal, Active Power, Corning, Acumen Solutions UK Ltd, Migration Solutions, euNetworks and The Colocation Exchange. The Hosted Software Summit, which forms part of the 3rd Annual Data Centres Europe event, will take place on 21st March, and will explore themes from a vendor, purchaser and end user viewpoint, with an expert speaker academy including Salesforce.com, Akamai, NTT Europe Online, Attenda, 7Global, Acumen Solutions UK Ltd, COLT Telecom, IBM, The European Software Alliance and McKinsey & Co. Data Centres Europe also hosts another first the Data Centres Awards Ceremony with 8 categories for nomination including best Data Centre in Europe and Outstanding CEO of the year award.
