Power And Cooling For Data Centres Summit Launched Of all challenges currently confronting data centres, as they continue to achieve continued growth, those of power and cooling characterise the most critical, concerning and perhaps the most difficult to resolve in the short term. Some Data Centres now consume the same capacity as entire cities, demonstrating the immense scale of the problem. Demand too is forcing the pace, as customer requirements increasingly look for higher capacity and greater transaction power and shift towards 10 kilowatts for rack servers. Extremely dense blade servers could double again power specifications. Investment will be required to make the eventual changes, but this is dependent on the solutions being developed as well as a range of critical issues to resolve including what type of cooling systems to put in place. Water cooling for example, is showing signs of early adoption in the US market. To focus on these issues, and the array of solutions that may become
available, BroadGroup has launched the Power and Cooling convention
and exhibition to facilitate an exclusive industry forum dedicated to
delivering technical, operational and commercial insight into finding
solutions into this escalating challenge to data centres.
