Telecity Announces Series Of Customer Deals

ARAG Rechtsbijstand, a global provider of legal insurance, has selected TelecityGroup as its data centre partner to support its business continuity plans. ARAG has migrated its entire ICT infrastructure to one of TelecityGroup’s Amsterdam data centres to provide robust protection for all its systems and client data against catastrophes such as power outages and fire. ARAG was prompted to review its information security and business continuity policies following the introduction of new rules regarding the provision of information and corporate governance. During the review process, system integrator partner SIMAC suggested outsourcing the server estate to a TelecityGroup data centre. As TelecityGroup’s data centres in Amsterdam are compliant with international security and quality standards ISO-27001:2005 and ISO-9001:2000 the ARAG systems located in these facilities are, in turn, fully compliant with the regulations of the Dutch banking and insurance industry. Telecity will provide a 24x7 SLA to cater for its servers and storage services and also provide connectivity from the Data Centre to three of ARAG’s sites.

The company has also announced that one of its UK Data Centres has been chosen to host the Hosted VeBet service, provided by speech recognition company VeCommerce. The VeBet service is used by betting agencies to allow their clients to place bets, view prices and hear results via speech recognition technology. The application is a Software as a Service (SaaS) based product where there is a monthly fee payable which varies according to the number of call transactions. VeCommerce hopes to look at the financial services sector as another user of its hosted service in the future.

An existing French customer, Yacast, a research firm which monitors music and advertising content over the internet, TV and radio, has also agreed to take two high density suites at Telecity’s Coubevoie and Aubervilliers Data Centres. Both Data Centres will be connected to Yacast’s head office by 10Gbps lines.
