Vietnam Opens Door To Data Centre Deployment The Vietnamese government awarded an investment certificate to a US controlled International Telecom Holdings (ITH) to build and operate a number of commercial data centres throughout Vietnam. The business plan calls for more than USD50 million in investment capital. The data centre network’s flagship facility will be established in Vietnam’s financial and industrial centre, Ho Chi Minh City, by early 2008. ITH will begin rolling out additional facilities later in 2008 to other major metropolitan areas. The additional facilities will be launched in areas such as Hanoi, Da Nang, and Hai Phong, which currently lack world class business-critical services such as collocation, hosting, and data storage in a highly secure, redundant environment. ITH’s experience in Vietnam’s telecommunications sector is derived from its sister company Universal Telecom Services (UTS). UTS BCC which, with its local partner VISHIPEL offers international long distance telephone traffic to and from Vietnam. International Telecom Holdings, headquartered in Los Angeles, California, is part of the Orchard Capital portfolio of companies and is the parent company of Data Next LLC. ITH focuses on developing and acquiring ventures within the telecommunications sector with emphasis on the developing Southeast Asia region
