    Macquarie Telecom Launches Affordable Business Continuity For Mission Critical Applications

    Macquarie Hosting, a division of Macquarie Telecom has announced the launch of its virtualised, managed fail-over disaster recovery environment, purpose built to deliver affordable business continuity to Australian business and Government customers. An entirely virtualised platform, the environment will run Sun X64 servers based on AMD multi-core technology and will be housed in an ASIO certified data centre in Melbourne. Until now, many companies have felt business continuity was an expensive extra and were risking financial loss by not having the right systems in place.

    Amey reduces its carbon footprint

    Amey, one of the UK's leading support service partners has reduced its carbon footprint by implementing a green solution designed by Intercept. Intercept recognised that maximizing efficiency gains made by rolling out a new system requires careful design and planning. Accordingly, a wide range of diagnostic and analysis tools were applied. PlateSpin PowerRecon, for example, was used to provide further intelligence and forecasting on server metrics. Intercept then went on to install VMware ESX servers and virtualisation software across the network.
