Google has announced plans for a $1.2 billion, 200 MW data centre campus in Jakarta, its largest investment in Southeast Asia. The campus in Karawang, east of Jakarta, will support Google Cloud's expanding presence in Indonesia - the region's largest economy with 270 million people and rapidly growing digital adoption.

The investment follows Indonesia's government cloud-first mandate, which requires public sector data to be processed domestically. Google's campus will serve both Indonesian enterprise customers and provide regional capacity for Google Cloud Platform services across Southeast Asia.

The facility will be designed to achieve LEED Gold certification and will incorporate advanced cooling technologies suited to Indonesia's tropical climate. Construction is expected to begin in Q3 2026 with phased delivery through 2029.
