Digital Realty has announced MIL3, a 35 MW data centre in Milan, expanding its Southern European footprint. The €250 million facility will serve Italy's growing enterprise cloud adoption and provide connectivity to Mediterranean subsea cable systems.
Milan has emerged as Southern Europe's primary data centre hub, attracting investment from major operators drawn by Italy's large enterprise market and strategic position connecting European networks to Africa and the Middle East via Mediterranean cable routes.
MIL3 will feature Digital Realty's connected campus design, enabling direct connections to its existing Milan facilities and the company's global PlatformDIGITAL ecosystem. Delivery is planned for Q1 2028.
