Amazon Web Services has expanded its investment in data centre projects across Madison and Hinds counties, Mississippi, to $25 billion - one of the largest single-state data centre commitments in the United States. The campus will deliver approximately 800 MW of capacity.
Mississippi's competitive power costs, available land, and state incentive programmes have attracted the massive investment. AWS joins Compass-Meridian in Mississippi, as the state emerges as a major new data centre destination for hyperscale operators facing constraints in traditional markets.
