AirTrunk has officially broken ground on a new 60 MW sustainable data centre in Singapore, marking one of the first facilities to receive approval under the city-state's revised data centre development framework following the multi-year construction moratorium. The facility, valued at approximately SGD 680 million, will be located in the Jurong Innovation District.

Singapore's data centre moratorium, which was lifted in 2022 with stringent sustainability requirements, has created significant pent-up demand in one of Asia-Pacific's most strategically important connectivity hubs. AirTrunk's facility will be required to achieve a PUE of 1.3 or lower and utilise at least 30% renewable energy, in line with the government's Green Plan 2030.

The development represents AirTrunk's expanding commitment to the Southeast Asian market, complementing its existing facilities in Sydney, Melbourne, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. The Singapore facility is expected to be operational by mid-2028 and will serve a mix of cloud, enterprise, and financial services tenants seeking access to Singapore's world-class connectivity ecosystem.
