The full consortium acquiring Aligned Data Centers for approximately $40 billion has been revealed by S&P Global. The buyer group includes: MGX Fund Management (Abu Dhabi), Global Infrastructure Management (BlackRock's GIP), Microsoft Corporation, xAI (Elon Musk's AI company), NVIDIA Corporation, Temasek Holdings (Singapore), Kuwait Investment Authority, and BlackRock Inc.
The deal, expected to close in H1 2026, represents the largest data centre transaction in history and highlights how AI companies (Microsoft, xAI, NVIDIA) are now directly investing in physical infrastructure alongside traditional infrastructure investors.
