Brookfield Infrastructure Partners has completed the acquisition of e-shelter's Frankfurt data centre portfolio in a deal valued at approximately EUR 1.1 billion. The portfolio includes premium carrier-neutral facilities located in close proximity to DE-CIX, the world's largest internet exchange by peak traffic volume.

Frankfurt remains Europe's largest data centre market, serving as the primary interconnection hub for the continent. The acquired facilities total 95 MW of critical IT capacity and benefit from strong occupancy rates above 90%, with a diverse tenant base spanning hyperscale cloud providers, financial institutions, and enterprise customers.

The acquisition strengthens Brookfield's position as one of the largest digital infrastructure investors globally, adding to its existing data centre holdings across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Brookfield has signalled plans to invest an additional EUR 400 million to expand the acquired campuses, taking advantage of development-ready land adjacent to existing facilities.
